I Am Not Sick, I Don't Need Help! Helping the Seriously Mentally Ill Accept Treatment

I am reading a book now that my library was able to get from another library. It's called "I am not sick, I don't need help". It is very easy to understand and very helpful. The author is Xavier Amador and it was written in 2000.

His research shows that 60% of people with schizophrenia, 25% of those with schizoaffective disorder, and 50% of those with BP are essentially unaware of being ill. It is not always a conscious denial, but that it is more likely a self-awareness deficit, caused by brain dysfunction--(not defensiveness). He gives examples of conversation that might help the individual.
